Original Medicare A & B alone does not cover your medical costs completely and provides no outpatient prescription drug coverage. Medicare A & B have deductibles for hospitalization and doctor visits. It also only covers 80% of Medicare allowable expenses, leaving you with the balance of 20% to pay and any excess charges. Medicare supplements or MediGap plans do not require you to choose a primary care doctor and allow you to choose any doctor or provider that accepts Medicare. These plans are regulated by the Government. The plan designs have letters A - L . The plans do not change from one carrier to another, they are all the same. Plan F is the same at all of these companies, AARP, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona or Mutual of Omaha. The only difference is the monthly premium. You will need to purchase a part D drug plans because Medicare Supplements do not include prescription drugs or part D.

Medicare advantage (MA or MAPD) plans: There are three types of Medicare Advantage plans HMO, PPO and PFFS. These are the most affordable plans with many having 0.00 monthly premium. Generally you will have co-pays for services, like doctor visits, hospitalization etc... You may need to choose a primary care doctor or select a provider from the insurance companies network. These plans may include Part D prescription coverage at no additional charge. We offer choices from Aetna, Cigna, Health Net, Humana and more. Stand Alone drug plans ( PDP ) or Part D are for prescription only. They do not include any medical coverage and can be combined only with Medicare Supplements or PFFS plans without part D.
